The icon-painting workshop of Kyevo-pecherskoy large Monastery performs the orders on making of icons in different techniques (butter, tempera, mixed). Also we have kyotnaya workshop on making of scopes, boards of icons, kyotov, thrones, altars and other church attributes. Monks, and also parishioners of large Monastery, work in an icon-painting workshop. Works are executed under the direction of experimental ykonopystsa-restorer, teacher of the Kiev an artistic academy А.V. Vyslobodova. At making of icons natural materials are used only. The dried out false or aldern board serves as basis, with the cut in oak leads. On a board, in order to avoid the damages of colourful layer, fabric - pavoloka on which inflict a few layers of glue soil - levkas is glued on. At will of customer, gilding of levkasa is made. An icon can be executed in different styles: from an anciently-byzantine canon to the academic painting. Icon covered the lacquered protective layer, lateral and back sides are processed a waxen mastic. |
